Build your pergola the way you want it: size, posts, beams, joists, ends, corbels, finishes, wood or steel. The model updates as you go. When it looks right, send it to us and we'll quote it. Kits come with every timber cut, notched and shaped in our shop, the steel and all the hardware, and step-by-step instructions.

    Joists

    Wood beams on steel posts are cedar, so the beam matches the post's width.

    Posts

    Posts:

    Four posts up to 18 ft long, six up to 36 ft, eight beyond.

    Bases come with leveling hardware that sets the wood 1 in. above grade.

    Knife plates need far more precise height measurements and footing work than cup bases.

    Steel posts stand on welded base plates.

    Beams

    A beam is never wider than its post.

    On steel posts the beam is as wide as the post.

    Beams narrower than the post sit in a saddle cut into the post tops.

    A beam as wide as the post sits on a through tenon.

    Steel beams sit in a saddle cut into the wood posts.

    Wood beams bolt down through to a flush cap welded on each steel post.

    Steel beams are welded to the steel posts.

    Joists

    Joists are never deeper than the beams.

    Beams all the way around are offered when the beams are as wide as the posts.

    Details

    Saddle screws are always plugged.

    The 3D view gives an idea of the look; it is not engineered. Footings, permits and site conditions are confirmed with you before we build. We install within 50 miles of our shop; for sites farther away or out of state, contact us. Kit pickup is at our shop, and we send the address when your order is close to ready.
